Near Siena, perched high on a hill stands an 18th century farmstead surrounded by olives groves, tall cypress and woodlands. If you are looking for a unique experience, an agriturismo vacation may be just that. Agriturismo is Italian for a guest stay at a working farm. We invite you to experience Tuscan country living at it’s finest at Montestigliano.

Montestigliano is a beautiful mix of cultivated fields, olive groves and woodlands. The farm buildings have been beautifully converted into private houses and apartments, each retaining the special touches common to Tuscan architecture. The houses enjoy lovely gardens, loggias and breathtaking views of the countryside.

Montestigliano is still a working farm with most of the cultivation taking place down on the plains of Rosia; sunflowers, sugar beets, wheat and corn are among the crops grown. Wine is no longer made on the estate but extra virgin olive oil is still produced and is available for purchase during your stay.

Montestigliano has a wonderful on-site, english speaking guest manager Susan Pennington. Susan will help you settle in and answer any questions you may have and is the ultimate resource for Tuscany and the best it has to offer her guests.
